Please answer these questions before attending the Child Within online workshop. You can share as much as you want with the group considering your boundaries and vulnerabilities.

The Wounded Child

  1. Make a list of everyone and everything (like institutions i.e. family, marriage, education, religion, God,…) that have hurt you, bullied you, unfairly punished you, harassed or abused you, betrayed or victimized you, and disappointed you in any way. Avoid generalization like saying “all.” Be specific. Give your Child a space to be vulnerable without trying to justify being sad, hurt, and being victimized. Let the Child show you his/her wounds and express pain.

No matter how old we are, the Orphan within us always feels lonely, helpless, and beaten up.

Those who hurt others have been hurt.

2. Make a list of everyone and everything (like institutions i.e. family, marriage, education, religion, God,…) that you have hurt, bullied, unfairly punished, harassed or abused, betrayed or victimized, and disappointed in any way. Avoid generalization like saying all or everybody. Be specific. Give your Child a space to see how he/she have hurt others without trying to justify it. Let your Child within see others’ wounds and pains.

3. Do you see common names between the two lists? If so, why?

5) Have somebody promised you something and didn’t keep their promise? Have you disappointed someone or been disappointed?

6) Have you been unfairly or brutally punished?

7) Where does your Vulnerable Child take shelter?

8) Are you a rebel?

The wounded Child can turn into a rebel. If we cannot merge it with the Wanderer Archetype we will resist every good advice and we will do everything harmful just because we have been warned against it.

9) How do you express your feelings and emotions?

10) Do you cry?

11) Have you ever asked for help? Have you helped others? What happened then? What are your experiences and thoughts on asking for help and helping others?

12) We have all been wounded. What do you do to heal your wounds?

13) Do you get easily excited? Are you joyful over little things?

To the Child within the world is a never-ending fascination.

14) What are you curious about?

The Child is the prince/princess of our psyche. How do you parent him/her?
